prove that if x and y are both odd integer then X square + Y square is even but not divisible by 4​

if assume X is equals to 3 and Y is equals to 5

then according to question,

 \frac{{x}^{2}  +  {y}^{2} }{4 }  =   \frac{ {3}^{2}  +  {5}^{2} }{4}  =  \frac{34}{4}

which is not divisible by 4

similarly if we take any positive odd integers and their square always not be divisible by 4 .
