If x is odd then x^2 is also odd.

Example: Let us take,

x = 3

x^3

= 3^3

= 27

Therefore if x is odd then x^2 is also odd.

Proof :

Let us take x as an odd number.

Then, x = 2n + 1, where n is any Natural number

Now, x²

= (2n + 1)²

= (2n)² + (2 * 2n * 1) + 1²

= 4n² + 4n + 1

= 2(2n² + 2n) + 1

= 2p + 1, where p = 2n² + 2n

This is in the form of (2n + 1) and thus x² is also an odd number when x is an odd number

Hence, proved.
