In series, combination the current throughout the circuit is a constant .
so we can say that
So the potential difference across the circuit will be the sum of potential difference of all the resistance .
then
V= V1+V2
V= iR
Substituting thus
iReq= iR1+iR2
i (Req)= i (R1 + R2)
Req = R1+R2
Hence Proved.
