Subject: Problems of mosquitoes and flies breeding due to poor roads
Sir:
I am writing to bring to your kind notice the poor state of water stagnation caused by poor sewage and drainage system in our colony. Last year mosquito-borne diseases such as malaria, dengue, and chikungunya took heavy toll of human life. There were 20 fatalities recorded. Your good self had promised to get the sewage and drainage system repaired. However, in spite of repeated requests, reminders and complaints, no action has been taken to relive us of our distress. We the residents have taken all the measures such as not allowing any water to stagnate in or around our houses in any form. But the water declined on the roads is beyond our authority!
I on behalf of the residents of the entire colony appeal to the concerned authorities to look into the matter and take prompt action as the rainy season is not very far. In case of further delay, the residents are planning to call a national TV channel and have a documentary made of the unhygienic conditions prevailing in our area. It will definitely attract the attention of the authorities at the Central Government. Looking forward to prompt action from your side.
Yours truly,
Mainak

Subject: Awareness of the need for road repairs
Dear Sir,
I am writing today to draw attention to the necessity of repairing the broken roads in my locality.
The residents commute regularly to the market for daily needs. But they face many problems while travelling on foot or in a vehicle on the road leading to the market because it is broken and full of potholes from frequent wear and tears. The holes also fill up with water from rainy days and have become a breeding ground for mosquitos and flies affecting public health. There is no maintenance by the concerned authorities as they choose to neglect the struggles of the residents and take no initiative to repair the road.
I hope that you will take this matter into consideration and publish an article in your newspaper so that the concerned authorities get informed.
Thanking you,
Yours sincerely,
P.V. Prabha
