let us assume that root 5 - root 3 is a rational number .

Therefore ,

root 5 - root 3 = p/ q where p amd q are integers and q is not equal to 0.

Root 5 - root 3 = a / b where a and b are co-primes.

therefore ;

root 5 = a / b + root3

but as we know that root 5 is irrational .

It contradicts the fact that root 5 is rational .

This is because of our wrong assumption that root 5 - root 3 is a rational number .
