We know that, v = u+ft and v=u+gt as the f here is the force which is equal to the acceleration due to gravity, g.
So, s= ut + 1/2 ft²
⇒ s = ut + 1/2 gt²
⇒ s = 0*t+1/2 gt² (when the initial velocity is 0)
⇒s = 0+1/2 gt²
⇒ s = 1/2 gt²
Hence, s = 1/2 gt² (is proved).
