distance travel =average velocity * time

from the first equation of motion we have v=u+at

putting value of v in equ 1 and 2

s=(u+u+at)*t/2

s=(2u+at)*t/2

s=2ut+at2/2

s=ut +1/2at2

*=multi..,at2=at square
