Answer:

Cot²(90-a)=tan²a

Cosec²(90-a)=sec²a

Sec²a+tan²a=2sec²a-1. (Sec²a-tan²a=1)

Sec²a+(sec²a-1)=RHS

2sec²a-1 =RHS

Hence proved

Answer: sec²∅ + cot²(90-∅) = cot²( 90-∅ ) - 1

              take L.H.S.

              sec²∅ + cot²(90-∅)

               sec²∅ + tan²∅                                    ( sec( 90-∅) = tan∅ )

                 sec²∅ + sec²∅ - 1

                  2sec²∅ - 1

                  2cosec²( 90-∅) - 1                            ( sec∅ = cosec( 90-∅)

            ∴ L.H.S. = R.H.S.
