Step-by-step explanation:

Let a, b, c be lengths of right angled triangle

By definition

sinA=b/c(opposite side/ hypotenuse )

cosA=a/c( adjacent side/hypotenuse)

sin²A + cos²A = b²/c²+a²/c² =b²+a²/c²........(i)

From Pythagoras theorem

a²+b²=c²

a²+b²/c² =1

sin²A+cos²A=1 (from (i))

Hence, proved.
