LHS = sin^{2} +cos^{4}
sin^{2} +( 1 - sin^{2} )^{2}
sin^{2} + 1 + sin^{4} - 2*sin^{2}
1 - sin^{2} + sin^{4}
cos^{2} +sin^{4} = RHS
