Let √3 be Rational number

therefore√3 =x/y [x & y are co- prime]

=> y✓3 = x

square both sides

=> [y√3]² = (x)²

=>3y² = x² ——————————————————(I)

let x = 3a

=> 3y² = (3a)

=> y² =3a² [a is divisible by 3 & y is divisible by 3]

Hence√3 is irrational number.
