Prove that the area of any quadrilateral with perpendicular diagonals=1/2*product of diagonals

rhombus is the poly with perpendicular diagonals
let ABCD be he poly
then see the atachment
and x=ac/2 & y=bd/2
area of triangle one small triangle=1/2 *b*h
=!/2*x*y
=1/2*ad/2*bc/2
=1/8*ad*bc
area of poly =4* area of triangle
=>4*1/8*ad*bc
=1/2*ad*bc
=1/2diagonals
