Answer:

a(b+c) = ab+ac

ex:-

7(3+4) = 7*7 = 49 or , 7*3+7*4 = 21+28 = 49.

5(9-6) = 5*3 = 15 , or, 5*9-5*6 = 45-30 = 15.

Distributive property:

Distributive property of rational number tells us that

For three rational numbers i.e. a, b, c

          a×(b+c)=(a×b)+(a×c)a×(b−c)=(a×b)−(a×c)

Example:

1× (2+3) = (1×2) + (1×3)       5=5

1× (2−3) = (1×2) − (1×3)       -1 = -1                                                    

Hence proved that distributive property holds for rational numbers also.
