because both projectile have equal accelaration and that is equal to 9.8 m/s2 , so we can say that accelaration of one from the prospective of other projectile will be equal to zero. They both will only have the velocity with respect to eacy other. Thus, you can see another moving in straight path.
In the special case of straight path if both of them are thrown with equal velocity in the same time they will have zero velocity with respect to each other.
