if given points gain area of triangle is zero then all three points are collinear

now (2,-2) (-3,8) and (-1,4)

area of triangle =1/2 {2 (8-4)-3 (4+2)-1 (-2-8)}=1/2 {8-18 +10}=0

hence all three points are collinear

Answer:

let A= (3,2)

B= (-2,8)

C= (0,4)

so by using slope formula we have

[8-(-2)]/[-2-3] = 10/-5 = -2

and

[ 4-8]/[0-(-2)] = -4/2 = -2

hence proved that the given points A B and C are colinear
