D= b^2 − 4ac

Here, ftom question..

x^2 + ax - 4 =0

a=1 , b=a , C= -4

D = a^2− 4×1×(-4)

= a^2+16

a^2 is always positive.

So, the value of 'D'positive this we can say that quadratic equation has two real and distinct root.
