  • Length = l ,
  • breadth=b ,
  • Height = h

Area of rectangle = Length × Width

Total surface area of cuboid is sum of area of all six sides .

Area of side 1 = lb,

Area of side 2 = lh ,

Area of side 3 = lb,

Area of side 4 = lh ,

Area of side 5 = bh

Area of side 6 = wh ,

  • Total surface area of cuboid = lb + lh + lb+ lh + bh + bh

  • Total surface area of cuboid = 2lb + 2 lh +2bh

Hence surface area of a cuboid= 2(lb+bh+lh)
