Let, r be the rational no.

and root 5 - root 3 be r

Here, r in RHS is rational no.

Therefore, r+ root 3 is also rational.

LHS is not equal to RHS.

LHS is a irrational no.

But, in RHS , also root 3 is irrational, which tells that our consideration was wrong.

Hence, root 5 - root 3 is a irrational number.
