Where v=Ed where E is the Electric field between the plates ,and d is the distance or separation between the two plates. Where as v=W/q where ‘w’ is the work done to move particle from one point to another point and v is the potential difference between the plates and a is the q is the charge of the particle. In the second formula we consider the charge from infinite point and then we calculate the work done on the charge .whereas v=Ed deals with capacitors which stores the charge of the particle it occurs between the plates .The difference we calculate the potential difference between the capacitor plates and from the infinite distance.
