Answer :

First let us know a few identity rules. Then it will be easier for you to understand the solution easily.

tanθ = sinθ/cosθ

cotθ = cosθ/sinθ

sinθ cosecθ = 1

cosθ secθ = 1

tanθ cotθ = 1

Now, L.H.S.

= (cosθ - sinθ)/cosθ

= (cosθ/cosθ) - (sinθ/cosθ)

[using the rule : (a - b)/c = a/c - b/c]

= 1 - tanθ

= R.H.S. [Proved]

Hope it helps!
