Prove the law of conservation of mass for the given equation by calculating molecular mass of reactant and product. 4P + 5O2 = 2P2O5.​

mass of phosphorus=31g

mass of oxygen=16g

reactants⇒

4P=4(31)=124g

5O₂=5(16)(2)=160g

mass on reactant side=124g+160g= 284g

products⇒

2P₂O₅=2[(31x2)+(16x5)]=2(142)=284g

mass on reactant side=mass on product side

Hence, the law of conservation of mass is proved.
