Thus it was his ardent wish so that he may move freely without the fear of police. He chose Gerrard because according to his observation Gerrard was a mysterious personality who did neither meet a lot of people nor was visited by many. Thus there was no threat posed to him as Gerrard . Hence the title holds if I were you conveying the wish of the intruder to be gerrard
