The particles of matter are extremely small ::
Materials required :: Beakers with half filled with water, Potassium permaganate crystals, Test tubes.
Activity ::
1. Take a beaker containing water ( half filled ).
2. Take some Potassium permaganate crystals (KMnO4 ) and put them in water .
3. You will see that the potassium permaganate crystals particles start going into the spaces between water molecules.
4. Now take a test tube and take 10ml of the solution and then pour the solution into a beaker containing water ( half filled ).
5. You'll see that the purple colour of KMnO4 crystals will spread in the whole water.
6. Now carry on this experiment several times.
Conclusion -- Every time you pour the solution the purple colour of KMnO4 crystals will spread in the water. This proves that the particles of potassium permaganate crystals are very very small as their colour can be seen after every dilution
The above experiment proves that particles of matter are very very small.
