Hi good evening.

here is your proof.

Solution -----

PA perpendicular AC and OB perpendicular AC.

thus, In ∆PAC , OB|| PA so,

∆QBC ~∆PAC.

therefore

QB/PA=BC/AC=

z/x = b/a+b ......... (i) by property of similarƥ

now,

In ∆ RAC, QB||RC

so, ∆QBA~∆RCA

therefore.QB/ RC=AB/AC==>z/y= a/a+b.....( ii)

from ( i) and( ii) we get.

z/x+z/y ( b/a+b + a/a+b) = 1

====> z/x+ z/y =1

===> 1/ x + 1/ y = 1/z

henced proved.
