EXPLANATION:

It is truly said that speak only when your words are more beautiful than your silence. It means that whenever you speak, your choice of words should be such that it should not hurt the sentiments of the listener. Also, your viewpoint should be understood by the person listening to you. If you are not capable of this, then it’s better that you remain silent. If you don’t know, what, why, how and when to speak, then then you should remain silent.

If you go on speaking and the other person is unable to understand or your words are not suitable for him/her, then it may result into argument or quarrel. Moreover, there is no point in wasting energy when you cannot convince the other person by your words, by your speech. For example, you have a friend who always fails.

Now, if you speak to him/her and your choice of words are:

You are physically challenged person. Why you just cannot pass this simple kind of exams. I think we should not be friends. You will remain like this forever which will hinder my progress too.

Then, you are hurting the sentiments of your friend. Instead of motivating him/her, you are demotivating him and upsetting him/her more. Instead you should tell that:

You must give another try. I will help you in studies and from now onwards, you will be informing you about how much you have studies and how much is pending. Life goes on buddy. All you need is a dedicated try from your side in which I will help you. Don’t get upset. You are a good person having bad time, that’s it.

Your friend will not even need you for his help. He himself will try to get out of that situation. Hence, choose your words wisely or keep mum.
