We get Platelet rich plasma from blood by centrifugation method.

  • PRP is isolated from whole blood by centrifugation.
  • The first step is blood fractionation by a 'soft spin', which is centrifugation at a low rpm.
  • After centrifugation the whole blood will become three layers.
  • The bottom layer contains the RBC, middle layer contains WBC and the top layer contains the PRP.
  • We take the top PRP layer into another centrifugation tube and centrifuge again to pellet and remove any contaminants.
  • After removing the pellets we centrifuge again to concentrate the platelets.
  • The concentrated PRP is to be purified and used.
  • During this process different buffers are added at different steps to make the isolation easier.
