The functions of pseudopodia include locomotion and ingestion: Pseudopodia are critical in sensing targets which can then be engulfed; the engulfing pseudopodia are called phagocytosis pseudopodia. A common example of this type of amoeboid cell is the macrophage

Answer:

Pseudopodia are the finger like projections present in amoeba. The function of it is it helps in locomotion and engulfing food particles

Locomotion  basically means to transport itself from one place to another. So through pseudopodia amoeba has the ability to move.

Secondly it helps in engulfing food particles. Pseudopodia is critical in sensing food particles around. When it senses food it wraps it's projections around the food and engulfs it.

Due to these functions pseudopodia is a very important part of amoeba and is necessary for it's survival
