Xylem and Phloem ( Vascular Tissues ) First appeared in Pteridophytes , that is why they are called Vascular Cryptogams.
( Cryptogams are the plants that do not produce flowers and reproduce by spores )

▶As they are the first plants to possess Vascular tissue they are called Vascular Cryptogams since they are non flowering plants....


▶They are not called as Amphibians of plant Kingdom as they don't grow in moist soil... moreover they aren't dependent on water for sexual reproduction...
