Every year with the member strength of 22, the Public Account Committee is formed which consists of members from both houses of Parliament:
Lok Sabha – 15 members
Rajya Sabha – 7 members
The audit report of Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) has to be examined after CAG submits its report to the parliament. At the beginning of its term every year, the committee goes through audit report and identifies key audit paragraphs included in the various reports of CAG for in-depth examination. The committee meets and discusses on this and submits its reports to the House on them.
