Public demonstration causes a lot of disturbance in daily routine of common man. You almost missed your important entrance examination as people blocked the highway. As tarun/taruna, a student aspiring to be a doctor, write a letter to the editor of the times of india highlighting the need to discourage such demonstrations and disturbance by public on highways which cause a great loss of time and opportunity for many.

Subject: Troubles faced by public during Dharnas and strikes
Sir:
I am writing this letter to express my concern over the problem of Dharna and strikes. The people who suffer the most with Dharna and strikes are the common people. I myself became the victim of one such public demonstration; I could not reach my entrance exam for JEE on time and missed it. These strikes, Dharnas, and demonstrations cause many inconveniences to people. Some of the many demerits of Strikes, Bandhs, and Blockades are given below:
1.The general flow of life is stopped. Vehicles, transportation system is halted.
2.People face inconvenience.
3.Supply of essential goods and services is affected.
4.Sick people or critically ill people can’t be moved from one place to another.
5.Production of essential goods is affected.
6.Public property is damaged.
7.Schools, colleges, and universities are shut down.
8.The poor people who earn their wages on daily basis don’t get work and wages
Through the medium of your esteemed daily I appeal to people and the Government to join hands against Dharnas and strikes. If they have anything to protest they may do it peacefully, without resorting to violence, damaging public property, etc. The Government must also make strict rules and regulations against violent Dharnas and strikes.
Thanking you.
Yours truly,
Taruna

Dear Sir
Subject – Demonstrations and disruption to daily activities of common man
Demonstrations and processions have become a common occurrence and continue to increase in our land. Little do the organisers of such demonstrations or processions realise the hardship it causes to the common man or even if they do, choose to conveniently ignore it.
Yesterday, I had to attend the Medical entrance exam at 10 AM and to my horror, found the main road blocked and buses diverted through GHI road, to the exam centre at JKL College! I somehow managed to get a toe-hold, on one of the heavily crowded bus and just reached on time. Sir, you can imagine the state of mind I would have been in, after the journey.
I request you to kindly bring this to the attention of such event organisers and the relevant government body, to put an end to the nuisance of near-daily demonstrations and processions on busy roads.
Yours sincerely
Tarun
