Public demonstration causes a lot of disturbance in daily routine of common man. You almost missed your important entrance examination as people blocked the highway. As tarun/taruna, a student aspiring to be a doctor, write a letter to the editor of the times of india highlighting the need to discourage such demonstrations and disturbance by public on highways which cause a great loss of time and opportunity for many.

The Editor in Chief,

Subject: The menace of protests and demonstrations.
Sir,
Through your esteemed newspaper I would like to express the disturbing increase of protests and demonstrations which result in many inconveniences. I am an aspiring doctor but because of the recent protest I was unable to attend the written test examination. I am saddened by the missed opportunity and now compelled to wait till next year.
Nowadays it has become a normal and common thing for any Union or organization to stage protests and demonstrations against almost anything. This trend must stop because it causes inconvenience to the larger public. During such protests and demonstrations shops and offices remain closed, streets or roads blocked. This causes to the business community and the government. We are left helpless and stay locked indoor under the circumstances. Many daily wage earners and their families will also be victimised. Law and order in our cities and towns deteriorate as a group of people can hold hostage an entire city. Destruction to properties and looting take place during such occasions.
People need to think about the sick people who must be taken to a hospital or buy medicines. Schools are closed and the syllabus cannot be completed. Clashes and violence lead to injuries and even death.
The government must come up with a strong legislation to ban protests and demonstrations. There are many other peaceful ways to solve problems and disagreements. As Indians, we must follow the non-violence policy of the Father of the Nation and Democracy, not Mobocracy.
Yours sincerely,
