- Hope this letter reaches you in good health and spirit. How are your parents and sister doing? How is your work going, especially your NGO work. By the way you had asked me about the Ammavodi scheme details. I had found out all the details you needed.
- As you know, The Ammavodi Scheme was initiated by Andhra Pradesh, chief minister, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, to help lakhs of mother or guardian under deprivation.
- According to the 6318 crore scheme, the state will provide Rs 15 000 per year for poor and financially poor mothers or caretakers with direct financial assistance to help them educate their children. The conditions for the scheme are (i) the assistance would be transferred into the beneficiary accounts each year till the children pass out of school (ii) Each January the amount of INR 15000 is credited directly intto the beneficiaries ' accounts. (iii) All below poverty line mothers/guardians within the state having school-going children, studying in class 1-12 in private or government aided or un-aided schools are eligible for this financial assistance.
- As of date, the state govt. has credited the annual financial assistance under the Ammavodi scheme for the year January 2020 into the accounts of 43 lakhs poor and needy mothers/guardians that is expected to benefit around 82 lakhs children within the state.
- The Ammavodi project is one of the first in the country to introduce major reforms to Andhra Pradesh's education system. The government of Andhra Pradesh has plans to revamp the education infrastructure of the state, and has set budgets of Rs 14,000 crore, to enable them to do so.
- In 45,000 government schools, 471 junior colleges, 148 schools and hostels, the state will slowly begin upgrading operations. Across all government schools in that academic year, the state has also agreed to use English as teaching medium from grade 1 to grade 6.
