Sports were an integral part of our school life. Though it meant leaving the comfort of the classroom and stepping out on to the playground, under the sun, it was a welcome change from academics.

Sports made us physically active and helped us understand the concept of teamwork. As a team we used to practice together, win together, and were even together in loss. We helped motivate each other and became open to positive criticism. We also learnt how to test our own physical limits and put in more effort for the sake of the team. Being together gave us the strength to accept loss, but not give up.

It is strange how the games and sports we played in school have taught us so much. What is even more surprising is that all this learning applies not just to sports but to life in general.
