Pulmonary artery and pulmonary vein are exceptional blood vessels as compared to other arteries and veins in the body. Why?

This is because unlike other veins pulmonary vein carry oxygenated blood and unlike other arteries pulmonary artery carry deoxygenated blood...

Generally veins carry deoxygenated blood from all the body parts to the heart whereas pulmonary vein carries oxygenated blood from lungs to the heart.....
Arteries generally carry oxygenated blood from heart to the body parts whereas pulmonary artery carries deoxygenated blood from heart to the lungs ....
