Pulse rate given is  : 12 beats in 10 second

Let us first find the pulse rate  per second , that means  how many pulse  beat in 1 second  .

we can do it  like this :

in 10 seconds  it beats  for =  12 times

in 1 second   it should beat  for    12/10  times

We know that there are  60 seconds in a minute , so to find  pulse rate  per minute  we need to calculate number of pulse beat in 60 seconds

in 1 second the  pulse  beat for  = 12/10 times

in 60 seconds  the pulse beat for =  60 times (12/10 )  =   72 beats

it gives  : 72 beats / minute.

It is clear that 72 is less than the 100

Answer : so  the pulse beat of the  teenager is  less than 100  beats / minute .
