the original deposit. = 8000

Step-by-step explanation:

Let say Original Deposit  = 1000P

Interest = 1000 P * 4.5 * 1 /100 = 45P

withdrew 4,000 from account

Remaining Amount = 1000P - 4000 = 1000(P - 4)

Rate of interest = 4.5 - 0.5 = 4

Interest = 1000(P - 4)  * 4 * 1 /100  =  40(P - 4)

= 40P - 160

45P  - 200 = 40P - 160

=> 5P = 40

=> P = 8

1000P = 8000

the original deposit. = 8000
