Purification of water using natural plants:
All the natural plants are have tendency to purify the water through natural cycle. There are some specific plants like water lily who have more tendency to  purify the water efficiently . These plants have capacity to remove various dangerous material from the water.Heavy metal , bacteria and even pesticides and some chemical are absorbed by these plant which makes the water purify.

Purification by wetlands:
When the water flows through the wetland , it filter out the various substances as well as the pollutants . The toxic substances are also trap by wetland from the rain water  as well from the waste water coming from the industries and agricultural water.

Purification of Water by Natural Plants:
Aquatic plants play an important role in maintaining a healthy water garden or pond. They not only absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen into the water, improving the environment for fish, but absorb nutrients from the water as well. This reduction in nutrients results in clearer water and less algae.
Floating Plants like water lilies and water poppies help to purify water.
Submerged Plants like Canadian pond-weed also known as eel or tape grass are very good water purifiers.
Purification of Water by Wetlands:
Wetlands naturally filter water by slowing its flow. Suspended particles, metals and other impurities drop into the sediment layer of wet lands. Overtime, they vanish from the environment as more layers of sediment cover them. Bacteria in plants and within wetland soils decompose organic matter which can cause gastrointestinal illness.
