Given:    Put the numbers 1,2,3,4,5 in the bottom layer of bubbles on the Christmas tree. They can be in any order. The next layer is the result of adding the two numbers

To find :  What order on the bottom line will give the highest possible total

Solution:

Corners number will be added once

while other numbers  will be added twice

to get highest total    smallest number should  be in the corner

Hence here is below

             61

         31   30

      14    17    13

    5    9     8     5

 1     4    5     3    2

or

             61

         29   32

      12    17    15

    4    8     9     6

 1     3    5     4    2

Both arrangement will give highest  total

15 + 27 + 44  + 61 + 61  =   208
