@Shweta9904 : It is '40'.. 4 x 4 === 1^2 + 2^2 + 3^2 + 4^2 = 30.. This is the outer ones. Inner 2 sets. Each set can form 5 squares. Hence 10 squares inside. Total = 40

No. of squares:
Counting the small squares (row and column)
4*4 + 3*3 + 2*2 + 1*1 = 16 + 9 + 4 + 1 = 30
The two square grids inside:
Each one: 2*2 + 1*1 = 5
Like that 2 sets = 2*5 = 10
Total number of squares = 40
