Puzzle here:
how many squares are in the picture.

No. of squares:

Counting the small squares (row and column)

4*4 + 3*3 + 2*2 + 1*1 = 16 + 9 + 4 + 1 = 30

The two square grids inside:

Each one: 2*2 + 1*1 = 5

Like that 2 sets = 2*5 = 10

Total number of squares = 40
