The major difference between the two types of platic is that thermosetting plastics cannot be moulded into different shapes once set, but thermoplastic can be melted & can change their shape.

PVC is thermoplastic type of plastic AMD tougher than polythene;
bakelite is thermosetting type of plastic and harder than other plastic and a good electrical insulator
thermoplastic, the process of softening by heating and hardening on cooling can b repeated again and again to soften the plastic
thermosetting can be softened by heating only once
