Given:

  • The base and height of a triangle is 9 and 5 respectively.
  • The base and height of another triangle is 10 and 6 respectively.

To find:

  • Find the ratio of the area of the first triangle to the area of the other triangle.

Solution:

• Let's consider ABC is the triangle.

Where,

  • Base = 5
  • Height = 9

& Let's consider PQR is another triangle.

Where,

  • Base = 10
  • Height = 6

Let areas of the triangle be A₁ & A₂ and base & height of triangle ∆ABC be B₁ & H₁ and Base & height of triangle ∆PQR be B₂ & H₂.

« Now, By Using the formula,

A₁ / A₂ = B₁ × H₁ / B₂ × H₂

→ A₁ / A₂ = 5 × 9/10 × 6

→ A₁ / A₂ = 45/60

→ A₁ : A₂ = 3 : 4

∴ Hence, Option C is correct (3 : 4).
