Answer:

) The number of pencil sold in that particular month will be:

if 1 pen gives a profit of 2 rupees then

45 pen will give a profit of 2×45= 90

and loss of per pencil is 50 paisa

A/q the loss of whole month is Rs 10

so, the loss caused by pencil= 100

( loss- profit = total loss)

( 100- 90 = 10)

A/q 2 pencil causes Rs 1 loss

? pencil causes Rs 100 loss

= 2×100=200 pencil

HENCE, The number of pencil sold in one month is 200.

ii) The number of pencil sold in the next month will be:

The profit gained by selling pen = 2×80=160

so, the loss should be also 160

As we have discussed in the above question 2×160= 320 pencils are sold in this month.
