2. Thyroid gland is situated at the neck in front of the wind pipe in junction of larynx and trachea. thyroid gland produces thyroxin hormone which affects all the tissues by causing certain chemical reactions.

3. Adrenal glands are situated at the top of each kidney.it produces a hormone called adrenalis or epinephrine also called emergency gland. its function is it is poured into the blood in greater amounts during highly emotional states like fear, anger etc.

4. The pituitary gland is also known as the master gland because it produces large amounts of hormones and controls other endocrine gland.

5. If the insulin hormone is not produced in pancreas then the blood sugar level rises and the sugar accumulates in the kidneys and passes along with the urine. This causes diabetes and this is called as diabetes mellitus.
