Q 1. Divide 34 into two parts in such way that (4/7)th of one part is equal to (2/5)th of another

Let parts are ( x ) and ( 34 - x )

According to the question :



$= > \frac{4}{7} \: of \: x= \frac{2}{5} \: of \: \: (34 - x) \\ \\ => \frac{4x}{7} = \frac{68 - 2x}{5} \\ \\ \\ = > 20x = 476 - 14x \\ \\ \\ = > 34x = 476 \\ \\ \\ => x = \frac{476}{34} \\ \\ \\ => x = 14$




Parts are

x = 14
34 - x = 34 - 14 = 20
