Even if you used all the wood from a single tree, and no other, to build something — chair, house, whatever — it would not just be the dead tree, it would also be a house MADE from the dead tree. It would no longer be JUST a dead tree because it would no longer have the form of the dead tree.

This works with people too. If you find a mummified hand in a museum or something, almost no one will call that “a dead body,” they’ll call it “a hand”. Same with a tooth. Probably even a head. If you ground up a whole mummified body, some people might agree that, yes, it was a ground-up dead body, the cast majority would add the “ground-up” qualifier, because the form has been radically changed.
