Distance km         0         50     150    150     250

To Find : What type of motion is observed in the substance during the time duration of 0 to 4

2. During which time duration is the substance seen in stable state?

Solution:

Time 0    Distance 0

Time 2    Distance 50

Average Speed  = (50 - 0)/(2 - 0)=  25  km/hr

Time 2    Distance 50

Time 4    Distance 150

Average Speed  = (150 - 50)/(4 - 2)=  50  km/hr

Hence Non Uniform motion  during the time duration of 0 to 4

Time 4    Distance 150

Time 8    Distance 150

Average Speed  = (150 - 150)/(8 - 4)=   0  km/hr

At REST

Substance  is in stable state  during the time duration of 4   to 8
