Answer:-

\bigstar Charge:-

Charge is a basic property of electrons, protons and other sub atomic particles. Electrons are negatively charged while protons are positively charged.

Types of charges:-

→ There are two types of charges

  • Like charge.
  • Unlike charge.

SI unit of charge:-

SI unit of charge is called as coulomb (C).

Dimension of charge:-

The dimensional formula of electric charge is given by, [M0 L0 T1 I1]

Where,

  • M = Mass
  • I = Current
  • L = Length
  • T = Time

Derivation:-

Electric charge (Q) = current × time → (1)

The dimensional formula of,

Current = [I1] → (2)

Time = [T1] → (3)

From equation (1), (2) and (3) we get,

Since, electric charge = current × time

Or, Q = [I1] × [T1] = [T1 I1]

Therefore, the electric charge is dimensionally represented as [M0 L0 T1 I1].
