For a polynomial of the form ax2+bx+c a x 2 + b x + c , rewrite the middle term as a sum of two terms whose product is a⋅c=2⋅6=12 a ⋅

c = 2 ⋅ 6 = 12 and whose sum is b=7 .

2x {}^{2}  - 7x + 6 \\  \\  = 2x {}^{2}  - 4x - 3x + 6 \\  \\  = 2x(x - 2) - 3(x - 2) \\  \\  = (x - 2)(2x - 3) \\  \\
