Given, AB = CD = 16cm, CF = 10cm and AE = 8 cm

In ∆ADE,

sin(<ADE) = AE/AD........(i)

In ∆CFD,

sin(<FDC) = CF/CD.........(ii)

Since, these two angles are the same, so we can equate equations (i) and (ii) -

AE/AD = CF/CD

8/AD = 10/16

8*16 = 10* AD

AD = 12.8 cm
