Q.1 In the following passage, replace the names of elements with their symbols and rewrite the passage in your notebook.


Argon, helium and oxygen are three different elements. They occur as gases in the air around us. Argon does not react easily with other substances but oxygen reacts easily with a large number of elements. It reacts readily with elements such as carbon, sulphur and silicon, and forms different compounds. Oxygen reacts with iron and zinc but does not react with gold easily.​
